This is Anne's second stay at our shelter, and she wants out! Adopted from here as a wee puppy, unfortunately her family can no longer take care of her. She's looking for her final forever home.

Anne is almost 2 years old, a medium-large, solid dog with soulful brown eyes. She's a little hand shy, so her new family will need to be slow in their initial meeting, and give her time to feel safe. But she's sweet and cuddly with everyone she's met here. She thinks she's a lap dog, and will sit in your lap at any opportunity. She doesn't know--or care--that she's about 60 pounds!

Anne is very well house-trained, and never soils her kennel, which is impressive, with the schedule here! She was crate trained as a puppy, and is comfortable sleeping in her crate every night.

She can be a little jumpy, and is built like a truck, so a home with older children only please. Her previous family said she plays somewhat rough with other dogs in the home. We haven't had her in play groups yet, but she's had very good interactions with other dogs on walks. Homes with kitties need not apply: she's a cat chaser. She has been fine with chickens, though. She has a tendency to chew, so needs to have heavy-duty Kongs and other indestructible toys available.

Annie is very smart, food motivated, and is ready to learn. She knows basic commands, and has pretty good recall in the yard.

The perfect family for Anne is one where she gets abundant exercise, like hiking or running. And afterward she'd be happy to settle in on the couch, preferably on your lap.

Annie's adoption fee includes a six-week Good Manners training class.
