Birch is a friendly, young, and enthusiastic boxer mix, with the common exuberance that boxer owners know very well. He's a little overexcited to meet everyone, and we're working on his manners. He is already learning that a Sit gets him a treat and jumping gets him a cold shoulder.
Birch has lived with other dogs, and loves to play. True to his Boxer blood, his vertical jumping skills are amazing. So much so he might be able to clear a 6-ft fence. His play style is active and "in your face", which doesn't appeal to all dogs. Like all adoptions, he needs to meet any canine already in the house.
He needs gentle guidance from the humans in the yard. Maybe he learned from his hound buddies, or maybe he has hound in his ancestry, but he REALLY enjoys following his nose around the yards and trails, exploring every scent he can find!
Birch is not fully house trained, but he is coming along well, and keeps his kennel clean during the day.
Birch's adoption fee includes a six-week Good Manners training class.
