Mallard joined the CVHS family when his previous family lost their housing. Despite his sad story, Mallard is a happy, fun-loving boy, usually with a big grin on his face!
His previous owners reported that he likes physical play, loves to run, and hates water. He did live with a cat, but Mallard is TOO interested in cats, and would probably do best in a cat-free home.
Mallard generally ignores other dogs when he is out for a walk on leash, but off-leash has shown that he does not like dogs at all. He needs a home without any other dogs, and without any expectation that he spends time with friends' or neighbors' dogs.
He walks well on leash, especially if he's allowed time to explore with his nose. He also has some basic manners, such as sit and down, and is an eager learner. We've found that he rides well in the car, and seems to enjoy the trip!
Mallard really loves people, and is a joy to spend time with.
A Good Manners class is included in his $350.00 adoption fee.
