Pumpkin Pie is originally a CVHS alumni who has returned in search of a very special home. He has been diagnosed with being blind in both eyes. Two veterinarians feel that he still can see shadows and contrast, but for a 3-year-old cat, this could progress over the years. He has prior experience living in a busier household with a younger child, another feline, and two cat-savvy dogs. One of the dogs was his special buddy, but he passed away, and Pumpkin Pie has struggled without that dog. It made him very anxious to have animals approach him unexpectedly. He would do best in a library-quiet home, without so much activity, and potentially could live with another animal, if appropriately matched. Pumpkin Pie is doing well getting familiar with his surroundings here at CVHS, and you can tell when he is working hard to know the layout of the room, where things are, and who is coming and going. Pumpkin seeks a home with someone who preferably has some blind animal experience, and can keep an environment consistent for him to navigate and settle into. A home that potentially is one level or a human who can help him stay near his essentials, while living his life, indoors-only.
