Oaklee came into our care when his family had some major life changes, and could no longer care for him. He's hoping there's a new home out there to meet his needs, and he'll reward his new people with love and devotion.

Oaklee really enjoys being outside, and he loves sniffy walks, hikes, and adventures. He will follow his nose anywhere, so he needs to always be on leash, or in a fenced-in yard. His previous owner reports that he was the happiest when they lived with a fenced-in yard, and he was able to sit outside enjoying the nice weather.

Oaklee had trouble adjusting to changes in his previous family, when there wasn't always someone home with him, so he's looking for a home where he has human company the majority of the day. He lived with a smaller dog previously, but Oaklee developed a desire to keep his food and toys to himself, so it would be best if he could be the only pet in the home, and not have children around, who don't understand resource guarding.

A training course is included in Oaklee's $300.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk with an adoption counselor about Oaklee, and to determine if you should meet him.
