Bard joined CVHS when his owner could no longer care for him. We are still getting to know Bard, and getting him settled into a routine with us.

Bard has the beautiful coloring of a hound mix, and the fully developed nose of a hound, wanting to follow it everywhere! He LOVES sniffing around our yards, and finds trail walks to be a wonderful bounty of all the good smells. Bard also enjoys stretching his legs in a good run around our yards, so it would be great if he could find a home with a fenced-in yard. He's learning to walk on a leash with the use of a harness, and he's driven to follow his nose, so a casual sniffy walk is great. If you like to walk like you're on a mission, it probably wouldn't go so well with Bard.

Past information is that Bard does not like other dogs, and we haven't had a chance to work with him on that yet, but his reaction when he sees them leads us to believe he would be happiest as an only pet, and not need to experience other dogs around him. Bard does have some anxiety when left alone, so he's looking for someone who would appreciate his constant companionship. If you are interested in learning scent work, enjoy leisurely sniffy walks in the woods, and have a yard where Bard can run, you could be the perfect match for this handsome hound!

A consultation with our Behavior Specialist is included in Bard's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email [email protected], to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Bard.
