Miss Kali May came to CVHS when her owner realized she was not happy in her home setting, and wanted the best for her. She lived with her owner for 11 years, and was very happy with a quieter, less populated home. The home environment changed with a family move, and Miss Kali May found herself very unhappy in an active household with children. Here at the shelter we have given her one of our offices to hang out in, and we are seeing a medium-energy dog who loves a good lap to sit in, and to be doted on like the queen that she is.

She is curious with new people, likes short walks, and will vocally tell you when she needs something. She has been quite humorous here when staff is trying to work on the computer or talk on the phone. In the prior home she was fine with other dogs, in that she did not pay much attention to them. She has no prior history with felines.

With her age, comes older pup problems. She does have major sight limitations; she is not blind, but can be spooked by fast movement, and unexpected loud noises. Other issues cropped up, and to get her healthy and ready for adoption, Miss Kali May has received a canine dental, a mass removed from her paw, and was treated for pancreatitis. The lab results on the mass indicate a low grade sarcoma (type of cancer), and with it being removed from the top of her paw, margins were hard to get, so what that means is the mass could come back, or it may not in her lifetime. Per the pathologist, it could be years for it to become a problem, but of course there's no guarantee.

Miss Kali May's adoption fee is $200.
