Western
Western joined us when the female dog in the home came into heat, and there were scuffles between him and the other male dog.
Western was initially very unsure about the change in his life, but he has warmed up, and is confident and happy now. He's doing well meeting new people, even at the vet clinic when he was neutered, but we do recognize he might need more than one visit with a potential adopter to feel comfortable going home with them.
Western is very treat motivated, and enjoys learning new skills. He's a strong puller on leash, but he's still working on his leash skills, and continues to improve. He's a big, strong guy, so will need an owner who is steady on their feet, to keep working with him on his harness and leash skills.
He lived with other dogs previously, but he has not met any here yet. He has not been exposed to cats, or children under 6 yrs old. He will probably be fine with older kids, but he's still a young dog learning about body awareness, so he could be prone to knocking kids over.
A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Western's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email [email protected], to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Western.
