Dayton
Dayton is the most adorable, goofy, big puppy who is still learning how to navigate the world with his huge feet and growing body! He is incredibly people-oriented and affectionate, and absolutely thrives on attention!
He mostly walks well on leash (not a puller!), but is a bit clumsy, and often leans into you while walking, and flops on his back for belly rubs. He is your typical exuberant puppy and can be jumpy, but has shown amazing responsiveness to his training in just the few days he's been with us. He has done well with crate exercises, so is well on his way to learning a crate is a safe space.
Dayton has played with a few of our dogs, and his natural style tends toward a wrestle and grab style of play. He is developing an understanding of corrections from other dogs when they'd like him to throttle down his play, so he's getting more skilled every day!
He enjoys chasing toys, adorably romping around the yard, and will truly blossom with continued training and appropriate socialization.
A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Dayton's $480.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Dayton.
